Welcome to Vista de Pájaro! Welcome to Vista de Pájaro, which means "Bird's Eye View" in Spanish. This website is an overview of our dedication to the Amazona species, and specifically to Amazona oratrix, Yellow-headed Amazons, who live in our home and our hearts. For several years, I have been visiting the native habitat of oratrix, which overlaps, or is sympatric with, two other Amazona species, Amazona autumnalis (Red-lored Amazon), and Amazona viridiginalis (Red-headed Amazon, a.k.a. Green-cheeked). Having the fortunate opportunity to see them in nature has intensely influenced my understanding of their behaviors and needs in captivity. What a thrill to watch them "en el monte," in the wild! Please look around! We hope that you'll find our feathers fascinating! Click here for more information on our ecotours to see Yellow-headed, Red-lored, and Red-headed Amazons, and lots of other animals and plants in their natural habitats in northeast Mexico. Click here for articles about the care, behavior, and natural lives of Yellow-headed Amazons and other amazon parrots. Store This section is still under construction, but we will soon have several quality amazon parrot products available to purchase from our web site. Survey We do not currently have a survey in progress. Please check back soon to participate in our next survey about Yellow-headed Amazons.
